Egyptian Ambassador calls on Defence Minister

ISLAMABAD, Aug 18 (ABC): Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt Tarek Mohamed Dahrough, on Thursday called on Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and appreciated Pakistan’s support and assistance for Egypt.

The Defence Minister welcomed the Ambassador and assured him of all possible assistance in the promotion of relations especially in the field of Defence between Pakistan and Egypt, a news release said.

“Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Egypt and is focused to further strengthen the existing brotherly relations with Egypt,” the Defence Minister said.

Moreover, he also underscored the importance of cooperation in defence industry particularly through joint ventures and sharing of expertise in defence technology.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of cordial relations between two countries especially for issues pertaining to Muslim Ummah.

Both sides agreed to further strengthen the institutional framework for high level bilateral political engagement and to closely coordinate in the UN, OIC and D-8 countries organization.
