The T20 World Cup 2026 wrapped up with historic numbers as India defeated New Zealand in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium to successfully defend their title.

This edition featured 20 teams for the first time, playing a total of 55 matches. Batting highlights included 7 centuries and 86 half-centuries, with 17,582 total runs, 3,270 of which came in the final three overs of innings. The first powerplay yielded 5,411 runs, while 101 runs were scored on free hits.

Boundaries dominated the scoring, with 780 sixes and 1,434 fours, totaling 10,416 runs 5,736 from fours and 4,680 from sixes. Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan topped the charts with 383 runs, making two centuries, becoming the first player to achieve two centuries in a single T20 World Cup edition.

The highest individual score went to Canada’s Uraj Samra, who scored 110 against New Zealand. However, 95 batsmen were dismissed for a duck throughout the tournament.

Bowlers delivered 12,059 balls, including 46 no-balls and 429 wides, with 53% fast bowlers and 47% spinners. They bowled 14 maiden overs and took 699 wickets in total. India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy led with 14 wickets each. In a single match, West Indies’ Romario Shepherd claimed 5 wickets for 20 runs against Scotland.

Fielding saw 485 catches, 110 drops, 123 bowled, 32 LBWs, 39 run-outs, and 20 dismissals by other means, completing a record-setting tournament.
