Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has fractured a toe during the shooting of her upcoming film, forcing the production team to temporarily halt filming.
According to Indian media reports, the injury occurred while she was performing an extended dance sequence. Shraddha, dressed in a traditional Nauvari sari with cultural jewellery for the scene, accidentally shifted her full weight onto one foot, lost balance and injured her toe.
Director Laxman Utekar immediately paused the shoot. Despite the pain, Shraddha insisted that the unit continue working and even returned to Mumbai to film close-ups and emotional scenes on the Madh Island set.
However, within a few hours the pain intensified, eventually compelling the crew to stop filming completely.
The film, titled Aitha, is based on the life of acclaimed Maharashtrian dancer and folk artist Vithabai, celebrated as one of the most influential performers in the state’s cultural history.
Media outlets attempted to contact director Utekar for an update on Shraddha’s condition and the film’s schedule, but no response had been received at the time of reporting.
