The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 56.750 kilograms of drugs worth over Rs 43.7 million in a series of nationwide raids targeting smuggling near educational institutions and across major cities, authorities said on Friday. Two suspects were arrested during the operations.
According to an ANF spokesperson, at Sangjani Toll Plaza near Islamabad, authorities seized 3.6 kilograms of cannabis from a rickshaw and arrested the suspect on the spot.
At Jinnah Airport in Karachi, a passenger traveling to Dubai was found carrying 0.150 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a bottle of psyllium (Isabgol). The individual was immediately taken into custody.
In Gwadar, officials recovered 30 kilograms of heroin and 23 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) hidden along the coastal line near Pasni.
All cases have been registered under the Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, and investigations are ongoing to trace the networks involved in smuggling.
