Federal Court to hear Islamabad HC Judges’ intra-court appeal on Nov 24

1 min read

The Federal Shariat Court has scheduled the hearing of an intra-court appeal filed by five judges of Islamabad High Court challenging their recent transfer.

A six-member larger bench, headed by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan, will hear the appeal on November 24 at 11:30 a.m. Other members of the bench include Justice Hasan Rizvi, Justice Baqar Najfi, Justice K.K. Agha, Justice Rozi Khan, and Justice Arshad Hussain Shah.

The appeal follows a five-member Supreme Court bench ruling that had upheld the transfer of the Islamabad High Court judges, prompting the judges to challenge the decision through an intra-court appeal.

The hearing is expected to draw significant attention given its implications for judicial transfers and the independence of the Islamabad High Court.
