The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has announced the auction date for two new franchise teams, marking a significant step in the league’s expansion plans.
According to a press release from the PSL administration, the auction for the two new teams will take place on January 6, 2026. The expansion is expected to create new commercial opportunities and increase fan engagement across Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shortlisted six cities for the new franchises: Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit. Successful bidders will have the right to select a team name from these six cities.
PCB officials said the addition of new teams will strengthen the league’s competitiveness and provide fresh opportunities for talent development and fan interaction.
“The inclusion of new franchises reflects PSL’s commitment to growth and creating broader avenues for cricket enthusiasts and investors alike,” the statement read.
