Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced new cash incentives for Pakistan Super League (PSL) team owners, aiming to boost investment in cricket and reward team performance.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Naqvi confirmed that the owners of the winning and runner-up teams will receive substantial prize money. The owner of the PSL champion team will be awarded $500,000, while the runner-up team owner will get $300,000.
In addition, PCB will reward the franchise owner who contributes the most to cricket development with $200,000. Naqvi emphasized that these initiatives are intended to help Pakistani cricket reach new heights.
Sources within PCB indicate that the prize money for the winning team itself could increase further. Traditionally, the team’s prize money is distributed among players, coaching staff, and other associated personnel. However, the newly announced bonuses are exclusively for the team owners.
“The aim is to recognize the efforts of owners who invest in the growth of cricket and ensure stronger franchises,” Naqvi said in his post.
These incentives mark a significant step by PCB to encourage franchises to focus not only on team performance but also on the development of cricket infrastructure and talent in Pakistan.
