The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has carried out a series of nationwide operations against drug smuggling, resulting in the seizure of 417.69 kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of four suspects, including a Nigerian national. The seized drugs have an estimated value of over Rs375 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operations took place in multiple cities across Pakistan, involving seven separate raids. In Karachi, a courier office raid recovered 93 grams of heroin hidden inside women’s purses, intended for shipment to the UK. In another Karachi operation, law enforcement seized 106.8 kilograms of Diazepam tablets from a motorcyclist, totaling 348,000 pills.
On the Islamabad Expressway, a Nigerian citizen was arrested at a bus stop with 75 grams of cocaine, while near GT Road in Peshawar, authorities recovered 9.6 kilograms of opium from a vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
Another operation on Naseer Bagh Road in Peshawar near University Tower led to the seizure of 1 kilogram of crystal meth (ice) and the arrest of the suspect for further investigation.
In Balochistan, 300 kilograms of heroin were recovered from Chaman’s Master Plan district, and an abandoned secret parcel at the Chaman border contained 130 grams of cocaine.
The ANF confirmed that cases have been registered against all arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the smuggling networks.
