The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Karachi Zone has arrested a suspect involved in illegal currency exchange activities following a major operation.
According to FIA officials, the operation was conducted under the guidance of the FIA Director General targeting unlicensed currency exchange networks.
The suspect, identified as Muhammad Tanveer, was apprehended in the Clifton area of Karachi. Authorities recovered USD 18,000, mobile phones, and other evidence related to the illegal currency exchange from Tanveer’s possession.
Officials said the suspect was operating the currency exchange business without a valid license and failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the source of the recovered cash.
FIA has launched further investigations, and raids are underway to apprehend other accomplices involved in the network.
