Senior Pakistani actress Parveen Akbar revealed that a recent visit to an old age home left her mentally stressed after seeing the conditions of the women residing there.
Speaking on a morning show, Akbar described how the elderly women were often waiting for their children, highlighting the emotional struggles faced by residents. “When I left, those women stayed on my mind for several days. They were waiting for their children, and I felt deeply saddened,” she said.
She recounted seeing women who would sit by the door, hoping for visits from their children. Akbar also spoke about one educated woman she met, who explained that she was considered a burden by her daughters-in-law and could not live with her daughters either.
Akbar’s reflections shed light on the emotional and social challenges faced by the elderly in care homes across Pakistan.
