A detailed report on Aleema Khan’s properties in Punjab was submitted to the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi on Saturday during the hearing of a case linked to the November 26 protest, registered at Saddar Police Station.
ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah presided over the proceedings. Aleema Khan once again failed to appear before the court, prompting the judge to issue fresh non-bailable arrest warrants.
According to the Board of Revenue report, Aleema Khan owns 338 kanals of land across four districts. Her holdings include 51 kanals and 16 marlas in Bhakkar, 1 kanal 4 marlas in Lahore’s Mian Mir area, 1 kanal 1 marla in Lahore’s Noor Pur, and 64 kanals 14 marlas in Raiwind’s Sultan area. She further owns 217 kanals 5 marlas in Mianwali and 4 kanals 13 marlas in Sheikhupura.
During the hearing, Prosecutor Zaheer Shah said the property details had been collected ahead of potentially declaring the accused an absconder. He stated that once an accused is declared a proclaimed offender, the law allows attachment or seizure of assets. He noted that 15 of her bank accounts are already frozen.
In a separate development, the court also issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad over non-compliance with court orders. The court directed the IG Islamabad to ensure execution of the warrants.
One surety appeared before the court regarding a vehicle obtained on superdari, while two others failed to attend. Despite the presence of prosecution witnesses, their statements could not be recorded due to the absence of the accused and defence counsel.
The court adjourned the hearing till November 20 (Thursday).
