Interior Minister vows no talks with terrorists after college attack

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has reaffirmed that cross-border terrorism remains a threat and praised the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps for successfully foiling the attack on Cadet College Wana.

Speaking with tribal elders in Wana, Naqvi said attacks on the country’s peace would not be tolerated and confirmed that Afghan-based terrorists were involved in the Islamabad court and Wana Cadet College attacks. He emphasized that local citizens were not involved in these violent acts and that discontent is no justification for taking up arms or launching anti-state movements.

Naqvi quoted Field Marshal Asim Munir, who sent a clear message that there would be no compromise on terrorism. He described the attackers as “monsters with no connection to humanity,” targeting children in a move condemned across the country.

Earlier, Naqvi visited Cadet College Wana, where IG Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa South Major General Mehr Omar Khan welcomed him. He met with army officers and soldiers who successfully rescued all cadets and staff, thwarting the terrorists’ plan to replicate the APS-style attack. Naqvi praised the troops for their bravery, professionalism, and swift action.

During the visit, the minister also met with students and teachers, commending their courage and providing a briefing on the attack and the rescue operation conducted by the army and Frontier Corps.

Naqvi announced that Cadet College Wana would be fully refurbished to provide a safe and modern learning environment for students. He called the officers and soldiers who carried out the rescue heroes of the nation and said Pakistan takes pride in their service.

Tribal elders expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Army for their sacrifices and reaffirmed that they do not support terrorism or recognize groups like the TTP.
