Three Pakistani move in Int’l Taekwondo C’ship finals

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4(ABC): As many as three female Pakistani athletes have qualified for the finals of ongoing 4th Combaxx Asian Open International Taekwondo Championship G2 organized by Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) here at the Liaquat Gymnasium on Friday.

In the first semifinal, Pakistan’s Fatimat-uz Zehra downed Alicia Shah from Britain 2-0 in the -49kg Women’s semi-final contest.

In the semifinal of the 73kg Women’s category, Pakistan’s Malisha Ali beat Kazakhistan’s Absinwa 2-1 after a tough fight.

In yet another Women’s -57kg semis competition, Pakistan’s Noor Rehman outplayed compatriot Yumna 2-0 to qualify for the finals.

In the Men’s -58 kg semis, Pakistan’s Haroon Khan beat Egypt’s Hisham Muhammad Ahmed 2-1.

In another -58kg Men’s semis contest, Kazakhstan’s Israelov beat Pakistan’s Haroon Khan 2-0 to qualify for the grand finale.

in the -87kg Men’s semi-final contest. Egypt’s Muhammad Khattab downed Al-Hashmi Ali from Oman 2-0 to qualify for the final, while in the second semis of this category Iran’s Muhammad Aamir beat Pakistan’s Muhammad Idrees 2-0 and reached the final.

In the -68kg Men’s semi-final encounter, Iran’s Muhammad Sadiq beat Kazakhstan’s Najmuddin 2-0 while Egypt’s Tameer Abdul Monam beat Kazakhstan’s Eldar Bremay 2-1 to qualify for the final.
