The world’s richest cricket board has come under criticism after a viral video showed poor stadium conditions ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 final in Ahmedabad.

The final match between India national cricket team and New Zealand national cricket team was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

A video circulating on social media shortly before the match showed seats covered with pigeon droppings in parts of the stadium. The person recording the video questioned the poor maintenance, asking where spectators who had purchased tickets were supposed to sit.

The incident sparked criticism online, with fans questioning the management standards of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), widely regarded as the richest cricket board in the world.

It is not the first time concerns over mismanagement have surfaced during the tournament. Earlier in the World Cup, reports emerged from Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi that used soft drinks were allegedly being refilled into bottles and sold again during matches.

The incidents have raised questions about stadium management and spectator facilities during one of cricket’s biggest global events.
