Veteran screenwriter and father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, Salim Khan, is reportedly on the path to recovery following hospitalization for a brain hemorrhage earlier this month, according to his longtime friend, poet and writer Javed Akhtar.
Salim Khan was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra, Mumbai, on February 17, where doctors performed a minor surgery. He remained under close ICU supervision and was reported to be stable.
According to Indian media, during a recent book launch event in Delhi, Javed Akhtar shared an update, saying, “Salim is now fine, he is speaking while sitting on a chair and showing real improvement. He is recovering well.”
Following his father’s hospitalization, Salman Khan had temporarily paused the shooting of his upcoming film Battle of Galwan. He has now resumed work on the project.
The film also stars Santosh Babu, Chitrangda Singh, Abhilash Choudhary, Zain Shah, Ankur Bhatia, Hira Sahl, and Vipin Bhardwaj in pivotal roles.
