Prominent Pakistani actor Faisal Qureshi has advised national cricketers to take pride in speaking Urdu, highlighting the importance of embracing one’s mother tongue.
During a recent television program, a video clip of Faisal Qureshi went viral on social media, showing him addressing cricketers and emphasizing the cultural and personal value of speaking their native language.
“I want to specifically tell our cricketers to speak Urdu and take pride in it,” he said.
Faisal Qureshi drew comparisons with international athletes, saying, “I have never seen top players like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi being forced to speak English unnecessarily instead of their mother tongue. When needed, a translator helps convey their message.”
He added that Pakistanis should feel proud to speak Urdu, stressing that not knowing English is not an issue since it is not the country’s national language.
