The trend of increasing new company registrations in the country continued, reflecting a gradual improvement in economic activity.
According to data released by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, a total of 3,444 new companies were registered in February 2026, taking the total number of registered companies in Pakistan to 287,049.
The report showed that foreign participation was recorded in 82 newly registered companies, while individuals from China obtained directorships in 44 companies.
The SECP stated that investors from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Canada also invested in new companies. Foreign investors mainly registered companies in the mining, trading and information technology sectors.
Region-wise data showed that 1,696 companies were registered in Punjab, followed by 656 in Islamabad and 555 in Sindh during February.
Sector-wise, the Information Technology and e-commerce segment recorded the highest number of registrations with 723 new companies. This was followed by 531 companies in the trading sector, 434 in services and 323 in the real estate sector.
Companies were also registered in other sectors including mining, textiles, education, healthcare, sports goods, cables and electrical goods, the SECP data added.
