China has said it will continue working with all parties, including those involved in relevant conflicts in the Middle East, to maintain communication, intensify mediation efforts and build consensus, a foreign ministry spokesperson stated on Thursday.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning made the remarks during a regular press briefing in response to a question regarding rising regional tensions following military strikes against Iran by the United States and Israel.

She emphasized that China supports diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue to prevent further escalation and promote stability in the region.

The spokesperson also announced that Zhai Jun, China’s Special Envoy on Middle East Affairs, will visit the region in the near future to contribute to efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation.

According to the statement, Beijing remains committed to playing a constructive role in reducing tensions and encouraging peaceful resolution through communication and mediation.
