The Bannu police have successfully foiled multiple terrorist attacks in the region, with operations resulting in the killing of 14 high-profile militants and injuries to 22 others over the past week, according to official reports.
Since August 28, 2025, all terrorist attacks in Bannu have been prevented, with insurgents attempting 10 attacks on police stations and posts. Reports indicate over 130 drone attacks on police installations were also attempted but successfully countered.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajad Khan, overseeing anti-terrorism operations in Bannu, said that certain areas in the district have been used as militant hideouts. He noted that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police had provided extensive resources to the region, including bulletproof gates and double-wall systems for police stations.
RPO Khan highlighted that Bannu’s police forces are now equipped with modern weaponry and surveillance technology, which has helped prevent large-scale attacks. He also credited local communities for supporting security operations, adding that even militant drone attacks were successfully neutralized using advanced resources.
