Pakistan strengthens global ties at EU Indo-Pacific Forum

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held multiple high-level meetings with international counterparts on the sidelines of the 4th EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum in Brussels, focusing on regional cooperation, trade, and climate resilience.

Minister Dar met with Croatia’s Foreign Minister Gordon Radman, where the leaders discussed regional and global developments, advancing political and economic cooperation, and enhancing bilateral and multilateral engagement. Pakistan extended an invitation to the Croatian minister to visit Islamabad.

On the margins of the forum, Minister Dar also met Maldives’ Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel, with both sides agreeing to deepen cooperation in trade, connectivity, and climate resilience. They emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contact through multilateral platforms to advance shared priorities.

In a separate meeting, Minister Dar interacted with Ambassador Andrea Orizio, Head of Delegation for Italy, to explore avenues for strengthening Pakistan-Italy ties, enhancing economic engagement, and collaborating within broader Pakistan-EU frameworks.

Minister Dar also held informal discussions with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan and Bangladesh’s Ambassador Khandker Masudul Alam, highlighting the significance of positive dialogue for mutual understanding and sharing views on current regional and international matters.
