Curacao, a small Caribbean island, has made history by becoming the world’s smallest country to qualify for the next FIFA World Cup.
With a population of just 156,000, Curacao has set a new record, surpassing Iceland, which previously held the distinction with a population of 350,000.
In the World Cup qualifiers, Curacao’s group-stage match against Jamaica ended in a goalless draw. This result was enough for Curacao to secure its first-ever ticket to the World Cup, marking a historic achievement for the nation.
Curacao finished at the top of Group B with 12 points, securing its place in the tournament set to take place next year across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 participating teams.
