Cutting-edge electronic equipment worth ₨180 million has arrived from China ahead of the 35th National Games, set to begin in Karachi on December 6, sources confirmed on Wednesday.
According to informed officials, the newly imported touch-pad electronic timing system has been brought in to ensure that both men’s and women’s swimming events meet international competitive standards.
The system, fully aligned with global technical requirements, will be installed at the venue ahead of the opening of the Games. Sindh’s Minister for Sports, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Khan Mahar, played a significant role in facilitating the procurement.
The equipment was imported after Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah approved a special grant for the project.
Meanwhile, a special delegation from the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) will visit the KMC Sports Complex on Wednesday to inspect and review the imported system before its installation.
