Pakistan has reached a significant milestone in scientific development by hosting the International Conference on Applications of Space Science and Technology (ICAST) 2025 in Islamabad, drawing global attention to the country’s growing role in space research.
Organized jointly by SUPARCO and the Islamabad Space and Technology Institute, the conference is scheduled to run from November 18 to 20. The event aims to highlight the increasing role of space technology in addressing global challenges.
Over 70 delegates from 25 countries and more than 2,000 participants are taking part in the conference. Several international agreements are expected to be signed, strengthening collaborations in research, capacity building, and technology exchange.
The event will feature comprehensive discussions on satellite technology and AI applications, with international participation opening up new avenues for investment in Pakistan’s space sector.
Experts and delegates will work on developing a strategic framework for joint research, skill development, and technology sharing. Such global partnerships are anticipated to play a key role in advancing Pakistan’s scientific and technological capabilities.
Member countries’ cooperation in scientific fields and developmental projects is expected to further enhance Pakistan’s space sector capacity, paving the way for future innovations.
