Police employee’s widow burned alive on land dispute in Sahiwal

A widow of a police employee was burned alive in Sahiwal, Punjab, after a dispute over land payment, police said.

According to local police sources, the incident occurred two days ago in the village 70-FR. The victim, Jannat Bibi, visited the home of Hak Nawaz to collect payment for her land. Following an argument, Hak Nawaz, Umar, and a woman set her on fire.

Jannat Bibi was hospitalized but succumbed to her injuries after two days of treatment.

The FIR names three suspects, including a woman, and police have taken one individual into custody. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, and all aspects of the case are being examined to the perpetrators to justice.
