In a rare and unusual case, Gujrat police have registered an FIR against a former son-in-law and an alleged “jinn” named Adil for sexual assault, following orders from the District Police Officer (DPO).

The incident reportedly took place in Bhadar village, under the jurisdiction of Kakrali police station, where the former son-in-law, identified as Syed Kabir, allegedly attacked his former mother-in-law, Samira. The FIR states that Kabir claimed to be possessed by a jinn named Adil, which allegedly controlled his actions during the assault.

According to the FIR, Kabir, reportedly 17 years old, allegedly assaulted the 43-year-old woman while under the influence of the alleged jinn. Acting on the DPO’s instructions, the police formally registered the complaint with the woman as the complainant.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Kakrali confirmed that the victim has undergone a medical examination, with the report expected within one to two days. The SHO also noted that the accused son-in-law was reportedly infatuated with the victim while allegedly possessed by Adil.

Police have launched raids to apprehend the accused, and authorities say he will soon be taken into custody.
