2 min read

The newly established Federal Constitutional Court has released its first cause list, outlining the schedule for the hearing of major constitutional cases next week.

According to the list, Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will hear cases in Courtroom No. 1, while Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi will preside over proceedings in Courtroom No. 2. A two-member bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice K.K. Agha will hear cases in Courtroom No. 3.

This is the first cause list issued since the formation of the Federal Constitutional Court, marking the start of its judicial activities. The court is expected to take up significant constitutional matters in the coming sessions.

Earlier, on November 14, Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan made his first major administrative decision by appointing Muhammad Hafeez, former District and Sessions Judge, as Registrar of the court, while Mazhar Bhatti was appointed Secretary to the Chief Justice.

The release of the cause list signals the operational commencement of the court, which will play a key role in interpreting constitutional matters at the federal level.
