Air quality across Lahore and several districts of Punjab remained extremely hazardous on Friday, with pollution levels far beyond safe health limits.
In the early morning, Lahore recorded an AQI of 439, placing the city as the second most polluted in the world, according to global monitoring platform IQAir.
Other Punjab cities also reported dangerous levels of pollution. Gujranwala recorded 808 particulate matter concentration, while Faisalabad registered 507, both classified as hazardous.
Globally, India’s capital New Delhi topped the list of the world’s most polluted cities today with an AQI of 519, the report noted.
