The Lahore High Court has approved seven-day protective bail for Shehzad Haider, Additional Director of the NCCIA Karachi, in a corruption-related case. The hearing was presided over by Justice Abhar Gul.
During the proceedings, Haider’s lawyer, Amjad Basmal, argued that the case against his client was based on baseless corruption allegations and that the complaint had been filed without justification. He further contended that Haider was never posted in Islamabad, questioning the grounds of the allegations.
Basmal also informed the court that there was a risk of arrest if Haider appeared, urging the court to grant protective bail. The court accepted the request, providing Haider temporary relief from potential detention.
