Afghan Nationals attack Wana Cadet College: Security sources

2 min read

All terrorists involved in the attack on Cadet College Wana were Afghan nationals, and the entire operation was planned in Afghanistan, security sources revealed on Thursday.

According to intelligence officials, the final order for the assault was issued by exiled terrorists leader Noor Wali Mehsud, while the planning was carried out by a commander named Zahid. The terrorists reportedly executed the plan under direct instructions from handlers based in Afghanistan.

Security sources said the responsibility for the attack was claimed under the name “Jaish al-Hind” on the orders of Noor Wali Mehsud. They added that the Afghan Taliban had been pressuring the group, known as Khawarij, not to operate under their real identity to avoid diplomatic pressure from Pakistan and its allied nations.

Audio intercepts obtained by investigators confirm that the militants, speaking in Urdu, repeatedly mentioned the name “Jaish al-Hind” during communications. The attackers were also found to be using U.S.-made weapons and equipment supplied from Afghanistan, sources added.

Security officials further revealed that the attack aimed to destabilize Pakistan’s security environment, a move allegedly linked to demands made by the Indian intelligence agency, RAW.

The identification of the killed Afghan terrorists, officials said, has eliminated all doubts about the origin and external backing of the incident.
