Lahore introduces online driving test services

In the ongoing Digital Driving Permit initiative, the e-Khidmat Markaz situated at Arfa Software Technology Park (ASTP) has announced the beginning of the online driving test service.

The Punjab Traffic Police and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) worked together to make driving licences more effective in the whole province.

The initiation of the Driving Test Service at the e-Khidmat Centre ASTP marks the initial phase of a bigger strategy to grow this service to all e-Khidmat Marakiz across Punjab.

A meeting session constituted an integral part of the pilot initiative, planning seamless integration of the online driving test service into the pre-existing e-Khidmat framework.

The interim administration had previously implemented multiple online facilities to streamline the process of acquiring a driving licence.

In December, the traffic police declared that citizens can now digitally renew their novice permits from the comfort of their home.

The Lahore Traffic Police given affirmation that the induction of online conveniences will reduce over-crowding at the Facilitation Centres by an impressive 90%.

Recently, the provincial authorities formally ordained increased fees for obtaining a driving licence.

In a message on X, the Lahore Traffic Police said that people can now get their car and motorcycle learner’s permits for Rs. 500, and it’s valid for up to five years.
